JOB TITLE: Clinical Nutrition Manager

Exciting opportunity for the right candidate to pair their clinical skills with administrative and managerial functions in a leadership role with the opportunity for growth and development within the company. Nutrition Management Services Company is seeking a Registered Dietitian to oversee our clinical nutrition program at a community-based hospital partnered with a long-term care facility in Yonkers, NY.

Reports to:     Food Service Director / Regional Dietitian

 
GENERAL DUTIES:

The Clinical Nutrition Manager is responsible for managing daily clinical and regulatory components of nutritional care and assuring the clinical nutritional care system for patients/residents is implemented and effective. The successful incumbent would work to foster a team-oriented environment, oversee employee on-boarding, audit clinical quality and customer-service initiatives and adjust annual goals as appropriate. The CNM will also provide unit coverage for clinical charting as determined by staffing needs.

The CNM will advocate to expand and promote the role of clinical nutrition within the campus programs and interface with the interdisciplinary team at morning report and other interdepartmental meetings to build relationships within the facility. The CNM will participate in QAPI audits and meetings as directed. This position also oversees the Diet Office, and acts as the liaison between clinical and food service aspects of the team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the nutritional care of all patients & residents.
• Provide support to the clinical dietitians and diet office.
• Coordinate the nutrition care program for patients & residents, including the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and delivery of nutrition services.
• Oversee the timely visitation of new admissions and the completion of assessments, care plans, and documentation in the medical record in compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Maintain resident confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Represent the department by attending and participating in all departmental meetings
• Provide in-service education to staff as needed.
• Assist the Director in developing and reviewing/updating departmental policies and procedures, and the diet manual. Assist in the planning of special menus and oversee the nutritional quality of the menus and meals served.
• Maintain positive employee and departmental relations through effective communication.
• Conduct regular Test Tray and Tray Accuracy evaluations

• Keeps credentials current through continuing education credits and maintain licensure status.
• Remain flexible in assuming new or diverse responsibilities

Required Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Current Registration with the CDR (RD)
• 2 years of experience as a Registered Dietitian in a clinical setting

Preferred Criteria:

• Master’s degree
• 1-2 years of management experience – Strongly Preferred
• Experience in both acute and long term care
• Experience with Gerimenu

Salary: 94k – 98 k annually
